The Fakies were born out of their love for skateboarding, and for promoting skateboarding in the Pacific Northwest. As
the local skaters rallied to Save The Ballard Bowl we felt compelled to "do our part" and form a skate benefit band. Instead
of going to city hall meetings we went to band practice.
We are all grizzled old men now, married and with kids, but we still skate. We have all been skating together for
30 years or so now and have been playing music for about as long in different projects. Some of the bands we have been
in are Alchohol Funny Car, Love Battery, Helldorados, Volume III, Wimps, Jack Cook and the Phantoms of Soul, etc.
